With so many accommodation options to choose from on the romantic island of Boracay, it's no surprise that you'd be overwhelmed. Apart from the options alone, you will also have to decide which Station you'd pick and you don't want to make a mistake. As a first-timer in Boracay Island, I think Hannah Hotel is such a perfect choice - affordable, nice, and chic, last but not least, it's almost just across the beach and it's in Station 1! Now that's a steal!
Location in Boracay Island - Station 1
Despite not being on the main road (Boracay Highway Central), Hannah Hotel is located in Station 1 and just behind Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish. It is tucked nicely inside the Loop Road which means you are a little isolated but still accessible from the main road.
Once you're on the main road, cross the road and walk along any of the narrow alleys between establishments, and voila you're already walking at the beautiful beach of Boracay Island!
Hannah Hotel's Rooms & Facility
A family-run hotel, Hannah Hotel only has private rooms but it comes with balconies and a nice complimentary a-la-carte breakfast for its guests. With rooms named differently (and uniquely), it gives each stay a little charm and individuality.
Private Room - Narra
Not my usual choice (a private room), but I was ecstatic to book this one since I am traveling with my friend. Also, a private room in the Philippines will not cost you an arm compared to other beach destinations elsewhere. A dorm bed in a different destination is even more expensive than the room that we booked.
A private room named Narra, the national tree of the Philippines, is what we booked. It is a decent-sized air-conditioned room with a balcony, TV, and a private bathroom. The hotel knew what guests would need, and a laundry line was also installed on the balcony (sweet!). The room is good enough for two adults however they only have a king-sized bed (no twins). This is not a drawback to me but I wish they had at least an option ๐
Facilities & Common Areas
While there's not so much to explore in the hotel, the basics are all available. A pool on the rooftop, a Cafรฉ and a dining area to enjoy breakfasts and meals, and a water dispenser free to be used by guests. I think that's more than enough.
A surprising detail for me, a book nook is also available. You can borrow a book of your liking as long as you return it in good condition before you leave. A massage area is also available and you can book your preferred treatment from the reception for an additional charge.
Hotel Cost
I was an avid fan of Booking.com but this time I booked our stay thru Airbnb. This is what we paid for the 3 nights stay:
I paid in UAE Dirhams and thus it is equivalent to Php 5,300++ upon conversion. For a hotel located in Station 1, the amount paid is very decent and reasonable. You are not splurging your extra penny nor compromising your stay to save either.
Overall, I liked the vibe of Hannah Hotel and its prime location on Boracay Island. It's probably not famous like the big chains but it's a hidden gem with everything you may need.
