Just in time to kick off the hiking season, FOX.AE organized the Climb for a Cause 2021 in Wadi Litibah last weekend with limited participants once again. We have hikers, athletes and outdoor enthusiasts from different groups and some of them even came all the way from Abu Dhabi as participants!
Hike Proper
The group started hiking on Friday at midnight to reach the campsite. After getting some rest, the group left the campsite and headed to the so-called 'Arena' or 'Coliseum' in the morning.
During the hike, it's amazing how established Wadi Litibah's trail is now compared to years back. Not only has the trail itself improved but there are additional stone benches as well! You will also find shaded benches along the trail. And last but not least, there are few sections now with railings. The railings are covered by rope/straw/jute (not sure of the correct term).
Personally, I hate the texture of the cover. I'm afraid it will cause splinter so I don't suggest holding on to it. Overall, Wadi Litibah's trail has improved over the years. Even the trail name has a slight change already as it is marketed as Stairway to Heaven - Right Bank. This should not be the case even though it is part of the loop as you descend from the Stairway to Heaven.
Event Activities - Rappelling & Rock Climbing:
In addition to the hike, two more activities await the participants - rappelling and rock climbing. FOX.AE has arranged and fixed the setup a week before to maximize the time during the event. And what a great move it was, almost 80% of the participants were able to try the activities. Some of them even did twice given that we have a short time.
But before the actual activity, FOX.AE ensured that everyone was ready. The participants were briefed on what to do as well as securing the necessary gear and equipment.
