PoliHosts Old Jaffa Hostel in Jaffa, Tel Aviv

PoliHosts Old Jaffa Hostel in Tel Aviv

The second post about hostels which I call my Accommodation Archives), is this quaint little hostel in Jaffa and just a stone's throw away from the Jaffa Clock Tower. Check this out and it might be the one you're looking for!

Location in Tel Aviv

A gem within the Jaffa area, the location of this hostel is absolute perfection! It is super close to everything in the area.

By saying everything, I mean the beach, the flea market (closed on Shabbat though), Abouelafia Bakery, Jaffa Clock Tower and the Jaffa Port. Yes, the hostel is just 2-3 minutes walk from all of these!

Not only that, but the bus stops are also just a few meters away from the property. If location is your key priority, this one's for you!

Hostel Facility

As a disclaimer by the property, PoliHosts Old Jaffa is not a hostel but rather just an apartment. Therefore, there's no staff at the property to help you settle in like what the hostels usually do. To my surprise, despite arriving at midnight, a gentleman named Abed (or was it Ahmed?) helped us settle in.

The hostel facilities needed no introduction too since what you see is what you get. In the picture above is a small common area or what we usually call a living room. Beside the common area is a small corner where cooking facilities are located as well as a water dispenser for everyone to use (not in the picture). Although I haven't seen it used, there is also a TV in the common area for use.

There's also a washing/laundry area which is just located inside a room (room B) that I find unusual and weird but the property has everything a traveler would need.

Hostel Cost

Again, I used Booking.com to book my hostel. I paid in advance (pre-payments are required) around NIS 187.92 = AED 216.13 for 2 nights during my trip (July 2022).

As everyone says, Israel is expensive and accommodations even hostels are no exception. There are better hostels in Tel Aviv (in general) but it comes with a price.

And if you're visiting Jerusalem (which you probably will), you're in for a treat! I find Jerusalem (accommodations and food) slightly cheaper than Tel Aviv so that's good news! Also, check out the hostel I've used in Jerusalem, none other than the ABRAHAM JERUSALEM!
