As I build my hiking appetite and hiking portfolio, I started to have a knack for long distance trails as well. Not only in the UAE but surprisingly, my first long distance hike was in Hong Kong - the famous Hong Kong Trail!
Check out the long distance trails that I was able to do in the last few years:
- Hong Kong Trail - a 50-kilometer trail from Victoria Peak to Big Wave Bay on Hong Kong Island. It is my first time hiking alone and my first long distance hike. Separated into 8 sections and managed to finish 6 sections with a total of 37-kilometers done in 2 days.
- RAKTRAV 2020 or Ras Al Khaimah Traverse 2020 - Not an established long distance trail but a trail put together by my hiking group FOX.AE. RAKTRAV is a 7-day continuous hiking event once a year that traverses Ras Al Khaimah from the Oman side up to Fujairah side for a total of 136-kilometers.
- RAKTRAV 2021 - Same event by FOX.AE although this year, I only managed to do 5 days and around 90-kilometers in total distance.
That's all for now and if you need to know more about them, feel free to check out my hiking guides!
